SPEAR LEGAL welcomes its new partner, Tiago de Sousa Freitas, who specialises in tax litigation. Throughout his career, Tiago de Sousa Freitas has represented companies, investors and private clients in complex tax matters, handling cases before the tax authorities, national courts and the Court of Justice of the European Union.
His professional background, which includes roles at firms such as Deloitte Legal and Leite de Campos, Soutelinho & Associados, spans industries including the drinks, healthcare, automotive, property, information technology, civil explosives, financial services and private equity sectors.
Tiago de Sousa Freitas holds a postgraduate qualification in Taxation from the Portuguese Catholic University and completed an Executive Programme in International Tax Law for Brazil, Portugal & Angola at Leiden University. He completed his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra.
